Like many other counties across Wisconsin, Jefferson County has been grappling with a housing shortage. Stagnant housing development following the 2008 recession, combined with rapidly increasing construction costs and a misalignment between the county’s existing housing stock and its population’s evolving needs, has posed significant challenges. The county is addressing the housing shortage through a series of strategic initiatives, with the Live Local Development Fund playing a central role.
