Habitat for Humanity of Waukesha & Jefferson Counties Launches First Construction Project in Jefferson County

Habitat for Humanity of Waukesha & Jefferson Counties is thrilled to announce its inaugural construction project in Jefferson County, made possible through the generosity of local organizations. Fort HealthCare has generously donated a property located at 700 Schumacher Way in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, while the Fort Atkinson Community Foundation has awarded a substantial grant of $132,000 to assist with this initial project and provide seed funding to support future operations.

This exciting collaboration aims to provide affordable housing solutions to low-income families in need. The construction project will involve the development of a duplex at the donated property, providing two families with a safe and stable place to call home. Habitat for Humanity is excited to partner with families, volunteers, and local community organizations to create lasting change in the Jefferson County area.

Habitat for Humanity’s Chief Executive Officer, Melissa Songco, expressed her gratitude for the support from Fort HealthCare and the Fort Atkinson Community Foundation. “We are thrilled to be embarking on our first construction project in Jefferson County,” said Songco. “Thanks to the incredible generosity of Fort HealthCare and the Fort Atkinson Community Foundation, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of local families by providing them with affordable homeownership opportunities.”
